What Does Graduation Mean to You?
Seniors - we are down to 3 weeks of classes to complete your portfolios in Integrated Social Studies 4 (US Gov) and ELA 4.
Some of you have completed enough work to guarantee credit - but your final grades are still to be decided.
Some of you have not completed enough work in one or both of these classes - which means you will not walk at graduation and you will need to come to summer school to continue working on your tasks.
IT’S TIME TO DIG IN!
There are three things you can do to help yourself:
1) Come to class EVERY DAY - not just the days you are in person!
2) Work while you are in class! Turn something in EVERY DAY
3) Do not blow off Wednesdays!!! You are expected to use your time on Wednesday to complete tasks and to come to office hours. DO NOT IGNORE BEING ASSIGNED TO OFFICE HOURS. The students who came to office hours this week filled 2 boxes in the SS Portfolio - what did YOU accomplish on Wednesday.
EVERY CLASS PERIOD CAN BRING YOU 43 MINUTES CLOSER TO GRADUATION IF YOU DON’T WASTE IT!
Here’s today’s plan.
On Monday we will be starting the research/.SS.2 phase of preparing to write our Argument Papers. If your Social Studies tasks are caught up this will be very easy. If you are behind in Social Studies your work will become much harder.
Today you will choose your breakout room based upon a task that you need. These are your choices:
1) SS.2.1 Back to School Opportunity 2) Milestone 4 Assessment 3) Milestone 3 Stepping Stone 3 4) Advanced Opportunity SS.4 (only available to you if all other tasks are complete)
There are also rooms for students who need help choosing a task, and a 1-on-1 conference room that I will be pulling students into.
Look at your Task Dashboard, choose a task, and enter the Zoom Meeting. Select “Breakout Rooms” at the bottom of your screen and move to the room assigned to the task you have selected.
Students in breakout rooms may help each other, or you may work independently. Call for help if you need me, but I will be working 1-on-1 with students so you need to do your best to work independently. All of these tasks have been introduced and explained during class (which is why you NEED to attend). Ask a classmate for help before calling for me.
