Good morning!

I am sorry I am not with you today. Please make the most of your time in the cafeteria - remember that this is YOUR time to earn credit for social studies don’t let anyone (including yourself!) take it from you!!

I would like you to use today to clean up those task dashboards - I see a LOT of red!

Here are your priorities, in order of importance:

  1. If you didn’t finish briefing your Required SCOTUS Case do so first.
  2. The Power to Make War
  3. January 6 SS.1.1-1.5 Activity
  4. US v. Lopez

If you have completed ALL of these tasks, you may use this time for other classwork.

See you Tuesday! E-mail me (salters@allentownsd.org) if you have any questions.

Happy Tuesday!

Where is yesterday’s work???

It is very important that you put in a full day’s work, even when their is a sub.

As we discussed, the plans are always here on the Course page for you to follow.

Please see yesterday’s instructions and immediately get to work.

Every day we fall behind is another topic we may not get to cover before the AP Exam. When only 1-2 students are behind, I will keep moving ahead and you will be responsible for catching up on your own.

When almost the entire class does not complete their work, we cannot move ahead.

Good Morning!

Please use your class time to write a one paragraph response to the Topic 1.1 FRQ (in Task Dashboard)

You may use the first 10 minutes or so of class to share your ideas with your classmates, but then everyone please work quietly to write your drafts individually.

Please submit your answers by the end of the period.

See you tomorrow! :-)

Good Morning!

  1. Today I will be introducing you to video resources from the AP Classroom Web Site (We will get each of you set up on that site on Wednesday). We will be watching two videos that will help you complete/revise the Topic 1.1 Analytical Readings of the Declaration of Independence and John Locke’s 2nd Treatise on Government.

  2. I will also be introducing you to Ms. Jennifer Hitchcock, a nationally recognized AP US Government teacher and a good friend. Hitch has a super helpful Web Site: http://lovgov.weebly.com/ which we may use from time to time and which you are welcome to use ANY time. If you are on Twitter, you may also want to follow her account: @lovgov

  3. Please take out your Topic 1.1 Packet. You will need it as you watch today’s two videos, and you will turn it in at the end of class.

Good Morning and Happy Friday!!!

  1. First of all thank you for going along with my last-minute idea yesterday! I don’t know how the final edited version came out - there was a LOT of unexpected wind noise that my phone picked up. Some of your other teachers are trying to help edit it out, but I don’t know how successful it’s going to be. I learned a lot for next time - in the future we will try something like this again, except with WAY MORE prep time and practice, and better audio equipment. Thank you again with running with the idea!

  2. Today your job is to get 100% of the class to turn in The Words We Live By questions. If you haven’t yet submitted it - work on it today and get it turned in before I see you on Monday morning. If you already turned it in, pick a partner, share your answers with each other, and help each other revise to make even stronger answers. You may choose to be generous and partner with a classmate who isn’t done in order to help every one get them in.

3 If 100% of you have submitted this assignment before I go to sleep on Sunday night, I will bring donuts to go with our discussion on Monday :-)

Have a happy Friday and a GREAT WEEKEND!
