Hi class! (It’s Ms. Salter).

Sorry we aren’t with you today. It’s time for you to make some notes based on what you have read so far, to prepare you to use your new knowledge in your create-a-state project.

Go to task dashboard and open the “Milestone 2 Assessment” under LC2.

Follow the directions in the task carefully about making a copy, sharing, and linking your copy in the task. DO NOT HIT SUBMIT - just hit “save” when you have done this.

For today - please complete slides 7-9. (You’ve already done the reading on slide 7). Think carefully about the state you are planning to create when you answer slide 9.

(We will go back to the earlier slides tomorrow).

If you have extra time, you can go back and answer slides 4 and 6 (the readings that you’ve already done are on slides 3 and 5).

See you with Mr. Solano tomorrow!

Today you will complete your Lenne Lenape Land Acknowledgment Projects.

Please see Ms. Salter for your supplies, and if you need something printed.

If you have completed your work, please review your task dashboards in all classes and find something to complete.

Happy Monday!

Today we will kick off our study of Allentown’s History. Remember - this learning cycle we will be working together to create a timeline of Allentown’s History.

Today you will watch a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GhihpPot9DM

As you watch, think about what you already know about Allentown. Did you learn anything new today? Were you surprised?

Bring your comments and questions to class on Tuesdya!

See you tomorrow! :-)

Happy Monday!

We had a rough Friday, and didn’t get to our learning activity.

  1. We are going to start class with a circle - let’s talk about what’s going on in our school community, and how that’s leading to interruptions. What would you like to do about it?

  2. Let’s get back to work. Did “Fake News” change the results of an election? Why do people fall for fake news? We’re going to watch 2 videos:

Fingers crossed - will you come to class with a laptop tomorrow?

Happy Friday!

Did you fall for yesterday’s H20 Hoax?

Today we will take another look at Fake News - how to spot it and what happens if we fall for it.

You can revisit the activity here: https://www.pbs.org/newshour/extra/daily-videos/why-is-it-important-for-news-sources-to-be-trustworthy/

Be prepared on Monday to be assessed on your skills at analyzing sources (SS.1.3)
