Good morning!

I am sorry I am not with you today. Please make the most of your time in the cafeteria - remember that this is YOUR time to earn credit for social studies and ELA, and don’t let anyone (including yourself!) take it from you!!

I would like you to use today to clean up those task dashboards - I see a LOT of red!

Here are your priorities, in order of importance:

  1. Complete the Launch Milestone
  2. If you participated in a collaborative discussion, complete the post-discussion reflection (Milestone 1, Stepping Stone 4).
  3. Milestone 2 Stepping Stone 1 - you MUST complete these reading notes - you WILL need them for your argument paper.

If you have completed ALL of these tasks, you may use this time for other classwork. I am sorry you cannot work on Milestone 2 Stepping Stone 2 (the SS.1.4 assessment) because the papers are in my classroom.

Good morning and Happy Friday!

I am so sorry I haven’t been with you these past few days - I am home dealing with a family emergency. We will complete the 2 remaining collaborative discussions starting Monday - which is a lucky break for those of you who haven’t turned your discussion prep in to Milestone 1 Stepping Stone 2 yet!!

Today you have a new task - Milestone 2 Stepping Stone 1. This is an article on the top 4 reasons why people say they don’t vote. There are reading notes for you to complete and turn in. Make sure you are on the slide that says “Stepping Stone 1”. In the activities you will see the article under Activity 1 and the notes under Activity 2.

Tips: There are vocabulary words at the end of the article - look at these first to help with your reading. ALWAYS read the questions first (from the notes) BEFORE starting the reading - that way you know what you are looking for! You may work with a classmate, but everyone must turn in their own notes.

Today you have the opportunity to clean up your dashboards - thanks to your classmates who are on the field trip.

Please begin by opening Competency Dashboard and look at your social studies portfolio.

You should have a rating in SS.2.1 and SS.3.1 and 3.2.

Work on and submit your missing work today!!

Open your “Launch Milestone” - if you made a copy on Tuesday make sure you reopen your copy, don’t make a new one.

If you were absent on Tuesday go to Task Dashboard and open the Launch Milestone task. Open the “Launch Milestone Activity” and make a copy.

Please open your Task Dashboard, and open the task “Studio 1 Culminating Task Argument.” Read the first (green) slide while you wait for me to take attendance.
